Leadership has been the throughline of my life, even before it became a title or a role.
I am a natural-born leader who has consistently been entrusted with responsibility in high-stakes environments where clarity, composure, and integrity matter most. From serving as captain on multiple competitive sports teams to leading within correctional, judicial, and federal law enforcement systems, my leadership has been forged under pressure and shaped by complexity.
Athletics taught me how to lead by example, regulate emotion under stress, and unite diverse personalities around a shared objective.
Those lessons became foundational in public service.
While working for the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, I certified staff in self-defense and became the first female to serve in a leadership role on the Emergency Response Team, responsible for riot suppression, unannounced mass housing unit searches, and high-risk prison emergencies. In volatile environments, I led through presence, precision, and nervous system steadiness to preserve safety, cohesion, and operational integrity.
As the Northeast Nebraska Drug Court Coordinator, I was entrusted with guiding a court nearing dissolution. I served as the central liaison among historically adversarial stakeholders, including judges, attorneys, law enforcement leadership, treatment providers, probation leadership, staff, and participants. Within months of implementing new procedures and collaborative accountability, the court was restored to full functionality. It continues to operate successfully at maximum capacity today.
I later served as a supervisor within a federal law enforcement agency, mentoring staff, developing emerging leaders, and building cohesive teams aligned with mission-critical objectives.
My current work is a direct extension of these experiences. I specialize in stabilizing complex human systems, developing self-led individuals, and guiding people and organizations through periods of high pressure and transformation. I bring a leadership approach that integrates nervous system awareness, systems-level thinking, and deep relational intelligence that supports sustainable performance, clarity, and resilience without burnout or force.
The success of the teams I have led has been supported by key leadership principles:
Powerful and effective leaders do not rely on control. They lead through clarity, presence, and the capacity to strengthen people and systems, so performance, trust, and sustainability rise together both individually and collectively.

Where the wild rises, the work gets real, and leaders are built not born.
I’ve always been someone people naturally gravitate to and follow.
Learning to lead meant so much more than that, though… learning how to build people, not just move them.
Influence comes easily to my personality style.
Leadership did not, because leadership requires more than just a magnetic personality.
Leadership is skill. Pressure. Regulation. Responsibility.
It’s the ability to develop others without rescuing them and to create strength without control. It requires the ability to see people’s strengths and help them maximize their natural talent, while also building the areas that don’t come as easily to them.
I am not a leader who was born with natural advantages.
I am a leader who was built.
Built through adversity.
Built through competitive athletics and grit.
Built through a ranch-forged work ethic where excuses don’t work and integrity is non-negotiable.
Built through trauma recovery, male-dominated industries, and environments where results matter more than likability.
My leadership foundation was shaped early as a multi-sport varsity athlete; volleyball, basketball, and track. This is where I learned discipline, pressure management, teamwork, and how to show up with integrity when the stakes are high. Athletics taught me how to regulate emotion, hold standards, have hard conversations without losing the mission, and to never back down, even from coaches, when integrity had swayed.
But my deepest leadership roots were formed long before sports.
They were built on a ranch.
Raised among horses, cattle, and wide-open land with no cell phone service, I learned leadership the way it actually works in the real world. Animals don’t follow force. They respond to clarity, presence, and trust. I learned responsibility from lives that depended on me. Resilience from early mornings and long days. Compassion from tending through every season of life and loss. And grounded strength from the land itself, where nature always has the final say and your personal grit is tested daily.
Those lessons shaped a leadership style that is steady under pressure, emotionally intelligent, resilient, and deeply human.
That lived experience informs how I lead and how I develop others; with honesty, strategy, and respect for the nervous system.
Professionally, I am also an IT Program Manager and leadership strategist known for delivering complex, high-visibility initiatives with clarity, reliability, and precision. I’ve earned trust across executive leadership, engineers, and stakeholders by being grounded, direct, and delivery-focused.
I don’t lead with ego. I lead with competence.
My philosophy is simple and uncompromising:
Leaders are built, not born.
Every leadership skill is learnable.
I approach leadership development with realism, not idealism. This work is designed for the real world, where not everyone is self-aware, emotionally regulated, or committed to growth, and results are still expected. I prepare leaders to operate effectively within complex systems, navigate difficult personalities, and maintain clarity under pressure without relying on fantasy, avoidance, or performative positivity. I do not dilute the message to make it comfortable. I tell the truth, even when it challenges assumptions or disrupts preferred narratives. At times, that honesty may feel confronting. That is intentional. Sustainable leadership requires discernment, accountability, and grounded effectiveness, regardless of the maturity level of the environment.
I develop high-achievers and emerging leaders to rise without sacrificing themselves. I demonstrate how to integrate strength and softness, ambition and humanity, discipline and compassion.
You don’t need privilege to become an exceptional leader.
You don’t need to choose between success and peace.
You don’t need to abandon parts of yourself to rise.
You can be built: intentionally, strategically, and powerfully.
And you can lead without losing yourself.
Universal Blessings-SJ
